The first block party is set for 6 to 8:30 on Thursday, May 18.
Million Dollar Highway will provide live music. Proceeds from the beer tent will benefit the Be FRANK Foundation.
Food, dancing, and vendor booths round out the activities. There also will be a preview from a few vendors in the Bayfield Downtown Farmers Market, which will officially open on June 15.
Last year’s events were organized by Pine River Library and the Town of Bayfield. This year, the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce is stepping into the organizing role with the town, while library staff are still volunteering to help with activities.
This year’s sponsors include Southwest Ag, Lewis True Value Mercantile, Pine River Library, Energy Inspection Services, Wild Horse Salon, Billy Goat Saloon, Town of Bayfield, KSUT, Bayfield Chamber of Commerce, San Juan Health Partners, Upper Pine River Fire Protection District, Bayfield Realty, Blue Streak Appliance, Glenn Tinnin Photography and the Pine River Times.
Later block parties this summer will be held on June 15 and July 20.
