The highway was completely closed from 9:13 until 9:25 a.m. while a tow company uprighted the truck, said Lisa Schwantes, spokeswoman with the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The crash occurred shortly after 7 a.m. along a sharp curve near mile post 160, on the west side of the pass. No injuries were reported, and the driver’s load remained intact, Schwantes said.

The lookout turn is a common spot for truck rollovers.

“Unfortunately, if you’re not familiar with that pass, the roads are nice and wide and it makes it a bit deceiving and comfortable,” Schwantes said. “We want to reinforce it is a steep grade and the trucks need to maintain their low speed so they can navigate those turns.”
