The group now offers clothing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday in its new location, next to the Pine River Shares office at 357 N. Mountain View Drive in Bayfield.

One mother attending the grand opening with her teenage daughter said how much she appreciated the opportunity to get some more clothes for both of them to wear. She had been wearing the same pair of pants for awhile now.

The idea behind “freecycle” is to provide a place for residents to share gently used clothing with each other.

There are clothes for adults, children and babies. Donations of used clothing and cash can be made, as well. Volunteers ask that all clothing be clean and in good, usable condition without holes and stains.

Throughout November, Pine River Shares also is conducting its fourth annual Food, Fun and Friends campaign. The campaign collects food for its backpack program and Christmas baskets. Earlier this month, members of the Bayfield Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints conducted a food drive and brought in more than 40 bags and boxes of food. Canned and non-perishable goods also can be donated at First National Bank of Durango in Bayfield, as well as Family Dollar. For more information, call 884-4747.
