Residents of Vallecito and other communities can drop off slash from wildfire mitigation work to be burned in an air-curtain burner from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the second and fourth Friday and Saturday of the month, June through November.

Only woody debris will be accepted; residents should not bring pine needles or pine cones, stumps or trash, and all material should be free of dirt and rocks. FireWise volunteers will be on hand to help unload trailers.

Slash disposal will be free for the 2017-18 seasons. A small fee may be charged for slash disposal in the future.
