The Environmental Protection Agency has set an action level for lead at 15 parts per billion (ppb) based on the 90th percentile of all sample results. Tall Pine Village’s 90th percentile for lead was 0.046 ppb.

Tall Pine Village collected five samples and one sample was above the 15 ppb action level. The water system is investigating the cause of the high lead result as well as the corrosivity of other water on plumbing materials in the area.

Additional testing was conducted in September and November for a total of 12 tests. None of the tests exceeded the lead action levels set by the EPA. Additional testing will continue in January, March and June.

As a result of exceeding the lead action level, Tall Pine Village is required to provide this press release to radio, newspaper and TV media.
