High-quality socks are something they need, and the donations that we all make will say “thank you” to our firefighters. So I heartily encourage folks to go buy a pair (or two or three) of these really great socks (such as Smartwool, Thorlo, Keen) at our local outdoor and sporting goods stores, and take them to the Durango Welcome Center, the chamber in Santa Rita Park, Purgatory Sports at Durango Mountain Resort or Alpine Bank. Our own Durango Fire & Rescue Authority will get the socks to the firefighters.

It’s a great all-community effort, and I’m headed out to buy my socks for donation now. Don’t wait for fire to affect Durango before we thank our firefighters.
