As a staff nurse, department team leader, and now as nurse manager, Hanson-Weller has transformed the Mercy Emergency Department to one of the highest functioning emergency departments in the health system.
She helped build the SANE program, has worked with the community to find solutions to resolve the increase of marijuana use and, is currently the department lead in the CHA ALTO program. She has also taken the lead to help develop a program to care for and ensure the safety of the psychiatric patient population.
