Riverview Elementary School students from left, Brynn Formea, 9, Ellie Burns, 10, Omar Diaz Martinez, 8, and Cooper Wells, 9, bag about 30 pounds of potatoes and 30 pounds of carrots on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023. The potatoes and carrots were grown in the SOIL outdoor learning lab garden at the school. The vegetables went into the 40 meal kits for the school’s Heart Warming Meals Program, and they will be given to families of students at the school. Every class made at least one meal-themed kit, bringing food items from home and including a handmade greeting card. Gift cards from the school’s PTO were also included.
