An unsettled weather pattern is moving through Durango beginning Thursday and rolling into the weekend. Chris Sanders, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, said to expect scattered showers throughout the Southwest region Friday as a storm moves in from the north. The higher mountains should receive snow in the morning and the lower valleys outside Durango are likely to receive rain. “It’ll be hit or miss,” he said of Friday’s showers. He did not expect serious accumulation of snow, save for possible higher elevation roads overnight. (Jerry McBride/Durango Herald)
