Workers with D&L Construction of Cortez level out the road base on North College Drive on Tuesday after pulling up the old asphalt and taking the base down 13 to 16 inches before rebuilding the base. The road has been under construction since last summer – pausing during the winter – with infrastructure, utilities and new curbs going in place. Work should be finished by the end of this year’s construction season. (Jerry McBride/Durango Herald)
