7:50 p.m.<\/em>: A man was arrested in the 12000 block of County Road 32, Mancos, on suspicion of harassment, obstruction of phone service and domestic violence after his wife said he assaulted her.<\/p>\n

9:12 p.m.<\/em>: A man was cited on suspicion of burning during a fire ban in the 29000 block of County Road M after a report of an open fire in a dirt pit. He said he thought putting a metal grate over the fire would be enough to meet the ban\u2019s requirements.<\/p>\n

Monday, May 21<\/em><\/p>\n

6:39 a.m.<\/em>: Deputies responded to a crash in the 17000 block of Colorado Highway 145. The female driver reported she had hit a deer. Deputies killed the injured deer and turned the investigation over to Colorado State Patrol.<\/p>\n

11:19 a.m.<\/em>: A man was served with a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.<\/p>\n

1:50 p.m.<\/em>: A man was arrested in the 22000 block of County Road G on suspicion of DUI and careless driving after driving into a ditch. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

2:55 p.m.<\/em>: A man was served with four warrants for failure to appear from Colorado State Patrol and the Cortez Police Department at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.<\/p>\n

7:07 p.m.<\/em>: Deputies responded to a report of an assault in the 18000 block of Colorado Highway 145, Dolores, the previous day. A woman said another woman hit her in the leg with a child\u2019s toy, causing a bruise. The suspect and her husband said she had not been near the reporting party the previous day. Deputies closed the case due to lack of evidence.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, May 22<\/em><\/p>\n

9:40 a.m.<\/em>: A man turned himself in at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and was arrested on a warrant for failure to comply.<\/p>\n

1:20 p.m.<\/em>: Deputies a dog fight in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160. A man claimed his dog received broken ribs and puncture wounds in the fight. Deputies were unable to contact the owner of the other dog.<\/p>\n

3:46 p.m.<\/em>: Deputies responded to a report of five dead sheep in the 28000 block of County Road M. They were unable to find evidence of intentional harm.<\/p>\n

4:58 p.m.<\/em>: A man was arrested at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., on suspicion of violating a protection order after two people reported he had gone to the residence of the protected party. An open bottle of mouthwash and a package of marijuana were found in his backpack.<\/p>\n

5:20 p.m.<\/em>: Deputies investigated a vandalized billboard in the 17000 block of Colorado Highway 145. It remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

10:25 p.m.<\/em>: A woman was arrested in the 100 block of North 20th Street, Dolores, on suspicion of domestic violence after a juvenile reported she was throwing things around the house and hitting a man.<\/p>\n

Wednesday, May 23<\/em><\/p>\n

8:49 a.m.<\/em>: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a warrant for failure to appear.<\/p>\n

1:40 p.m.<\/em>: A man was arrested in the 12000 block of U.S. Highway 491 on suspicion of violating a protection order after his wife, the protected party, reported he had sent her emails.<\/p>\n

3:59 p.m.<\/em>: Deputies responded to a request for a welfare check in the 24000 block of County Road M. They did not immediately contact the person who lived there. The case remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

5:30 p.m.<\/em>: Deputies assisted the Mancos ambulance in responding to a report of an injured man in the 5900 block of County Road 41. The man\u2019s injuries were determined to be the result of a fall, and he was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
