The deadline to receive a primary election ballot in the mail was Monday, but voters can still participate by delivering their ballots to the drop box outside the Montezuma County Clerk and Recorder\u2019s Office before 7 p.m. on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Unregistered Montezuma County residents can also register to vote and pick up a ballot at the office before 7 p.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Republican voters have four candidates for governor and three state treasurer candidates on their ballots.<\/p>\n

Democrats will have to choose between three District 3 representative candidates, four governor candidates, two treasurer candidates and two attorney general candidates.<\/p>\n

All local Republicans, including commissioner candidate Jim Candelaria and incumbent Sheriff Steve Nowlin, are running unopposed.<\/p>\n

The only local Democrat, commissioner candidate M.B. McAfee, is also running unopposed.<\/p>\n

County Clerk Kim Percell on Thursday said her office has received 3,244 ballots so far.<\/p>\n

The Clerk and Recorder\u2019s office is at 140 W. Main St., Suite 1, Cortez. It is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The drop box in the parking lot outside the building is available all day, seven days a week.<\/p>\n
