Fabine Scott, 31, was found dead in his home June 11 in Shiprock, New Mexico. Shiprock Police Department declined to comment on the death, claiming it was an active investigation.<\/p>\n
Scott was accused of inappropriately touching two 10-year-old girls at the rec center on June 1.<\/p>\n
An arrest warrant was issued by 6th Judicial District Judge Suzanne Carlson on June 3 on two counts of unlawful sexual assault on a child.<\/p>\n
The Durango Police Department is dropping the sexual assault investigation because the suspect is deceased, said Cmdr. Jacob Dunlap.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest affidavit, two girls were walking around in the lazy river pool of the rec center.<\/p>\n
Scott allegedly followed the girls and grabbed their buttocks on four separate occasions.<\/p>\n
Durango Police called Scott at his phone number and Scott denied having touched anyone inappropriately.<\/p>\n
He told police he lived out of his car in Cortez and had no fixed address. Three attempts to reach Scott were made before the arrest warrant was issued.<\/p>\n
Scott had a history of previous offenses, including assault, child abuse, distribution of drugs, a DUI and resisting arrest.<\/p>\n
He had no history of sexual assault.<\/p>\n
