{"id":98756,"date":"2018-07-13T17:54:15","date_gmt":"2018-07-13T23:54:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/several-lightning-caused-fires-start-east-of-durango\/"},"modified":"2018-07-13T17:54:15","modified_gmt":"2018-07-13T23:54:15","slug":"several-lightning-caused-fires-start-east-of-durango","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/several-lightning-caused-fires-start-east-of-durango\/","title":{"rendered":"Several lightning-caused fires start east of Durango"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!-- gallery:67f79a69-5ba6-4422-9702-6a88ab18ce31 --><\/p>\n<p>Several small lightning-caused fires started Friday afternoon near County Road 228, northeast of Elmore\u2019s Corner in La Plata County.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of them are single trees,\u201d said Durango Fire Protection District Chief Hal Doughty.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters responded to at least four fires in the area, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters built containment lines around the trees, and, in some cases, cut them down.
