The Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado has announced that Peyton Heitzman and Tuggy Dunton have joined the Region 9 board of directors as representatives of two government jurisdictions.<\/p>\n
Tuggy Dunton is the Ignacio Town Clerk and has worked for the town since 2016. She has a master\u2019s degree in marriage and family counseling and has served for various organizations including two nonprofits (WINGS of Freedom Inc. and Four Directions Inc.) that she co-founded with her husband.<\/p>\n
Dunton is fluent in conversational Spanish, having lived overseas for the first 15 years of her life.<\/p>\n
Peyton Heitzman serves as the management intern with the city of Cortez, attended Fort Lewis College and is finishing a degree in public policy at the University of Colorado Denver.<\/p>\n
Dunton and Heitzman were elected to the Region 9 board of directors at their recent July meeting.<\/p>\n
Region 9 is a public\/private partnership that promotes and coordinates economic development efforts in five Colorado counties. The Region 9 board is composed of 26 members \u2013 17 representatives from the local governmental jurisdictions and nine members from the private sector. The Region 9 board meets quarterly.<\/p>\n
