{"id":97647,"date":"2018-10-04T21:16:42","date_gmt":"2018-10-05T03:16:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/seasons-restaurant-a-mainstay-in-downtown-durango-is-for-sale\/"},"modified":"2018-10-04T21:16:42","modified_gmt":"2018-10-05T03:16:42","slug":"seasons-restaurant-a-mainstay-in-downtown-durango-is-for-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/seasons-restaurant-a-mainstay-in-downtown-durango-is-for-sale\/","title":{"rendered":"Seasons restaurant, a mainstay in downtown Durango, is for sale"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!-- gallery:3697d58a-3a11-446e-b817-52d2efd37344 --><\/p>\n<p>Karen and Wayne Barger, owners of Seasons Rotisserie &amp; Grill, a mainstay on Main Avenue in Durango, have listed the fine dining restaurant for sale for $2.25 million.<\/p>\n<p>Karen Barger said after the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/durangoherald.com\/articles\/234186\">retirement of her husband from Fort Lewis College<\/a>, where he was head trainer and assistant athletic director, the couple began looking to retire together to have more time to spend with family and to travel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve always had different schedules,\u201d Barger said in an interview this week. \u201cHe was off summers, and that was always our busiest time. She purchased the business from them in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>Seasons\u2019 website says it \u201cis firmly rooted in American-style cooking perfectly paired with exemplary service.\u201d The centerpiece of its kitchen is a wood-burning grill and rotisserie. The fundraiser benefits Durango\u2019s emergency responders.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Durango Herald file<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Annually after the fire, Seasons holds its \u201cBurning Down the House\u201d fundraiser benefiting Durango\u2019s emergency responders through the 100 Club.<\/p>\n<p>The 100 Club provides financial assistance to families of law enforcement and firefighters who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty, and the club provides resources to enhance their safety and welfare.<\/p>\n<p>Barger was elected to the La Plata Electric Association in 2015, but she <a href=\"https:\/\/durangoherald.com\/articles\/223677\">was defeated by 17 votes by Tim Wheeler<\/a> in May.<\/p>\n<p>Her time on the board, she said, showed her she could find new venues to help people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not sure I\u2019m done.
