Community members visiting Maria\u2019s Bookshop, 960 Main Ave., are invited to select an \u201cangel\u201d ornament off the book drive \u201ctree\u201d in the shop. Each angel features information about a local child served by the Family Support Program. Booksellers are happy to provide guidance and ideas to help individuals find the perfect book to donate, and Maria\u2019s Bookshop will offer a 15 percent discount on the book drive purchase. Books collected by Dec. 17 will be presented to children at the \u201cDecember Delights\u201d holiday event at the Family Center.<\/p>\n
The Family Support Program is designed to give families an opportunity to work closely with an advocate to set goals and secure resources. Advocates help to create a plan for families to achieve their identified goals. The program also provides financial assistance and information about family enrichment activities.<\/p>\n
