Lee Bartley plays the key board at a previous Mancos Follies Casino Night in the bar.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">du1-i-syn<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Talk in Cortez business circles that the Millwood Junction restaurant in Mancos was being sold is not true, said owner Joann Riffel.<\/p>\n<p>A business source told The Journal on Thursday that the owner of Moose and More, Brent McWhirter, was working on purchasing the restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about it, McWhirter called it \u201ca rumor\u201d but also said it \u201cwas too early to speculate\u201d about a sale.<\/p>\n<p>Riffel on Friday said any claim about a sale was \u201cfalse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said there has been speculation that the restaurant was selling, and that it \u201cprobably came about after my mother passed away because she was the owner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ownership was passed on to Riffel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can put that rumor to bed. This restaurant is a big deal for my family and this community,\u201d she said. \u201cMy parents built this restaurant.
