The event features films, food, drinks, a silent auction with river-themed items and live music by Halden Wofford and the Hi Beams. The Dolores River does not require a permit, but there will be information on the regional rivers that do.<\/p>\n
The event is a chance to meet new boaters, plan river adventures and connect with the local river-running community.<\/p>\n
Every year at the Permit Party, a community slideshow of Dolores River photos is presented at the beginning of the event.<\/p>\n

The popular Denver-based honky-tonk band performs a brand of country that is equal parts Hank Williams and Johnny Depp, \u201cas boundless and electrifying as American itself,\u201d according to their website.<\/p>\n Frontman Halden Wofford pours forth a potent mix of rocked-up honky-tonk, Western swing, Dylanesque originals and spaghetti Western epics.<\/p>\n \u201cEach outrageous tale he spins is met by the whine and wail of the steel guitar, the furious double-neck electric guitar and mandolin, and the relentless thump of the upright bass and drums,\u201d the website says.<\/p>\n The band has performed at Red Rocks, the Fillmore, on the back of a flatbed truck and on \u201cPrairie Home Companion.\u201d<\/p>\n
