The Dolores County Sheriff\u2019s Office is investigating a Tuesday bomb threat at the Community Banks of Colorado in Dove Creek.<\/p>\n

A press release from Dolores County Sheriff Don Wilson states his office received a report of a possible bomb threat on Tuesday afternoon. Officers evacuated the bank and nearby businesses for public safety.<\/p>\n

Local schools were notified of a possible threat, the press release states. The area was released to normal business once the bank was deemed safe.<\/p>\n

Montezuma County Sheriff Steve Nowlin said he sent one deputy to Dove Creek for assistance. Colorado State Patrol and a Colorado Parks and Wildlife office also responded.<\/p>\n

Nowlin said the threat was called in long-distance by phone.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was unfounded,\u201d Nowlin said. \u201cJust threats.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Dove Creek Sheriff\u2019s Office said the FBI was notified about the threat, but a spokesperson for the FBI told The Journal that the agency was not involved with the investigation.<\/p>\n
