Drugs, alcohol and excessive speed are considered factors in a crash on Wolf Creek Pass earlier this week that killed a 24-year-old man, according to Colorado State Patrol.<\/p>\n

CSP said in a news release that around 2:45 p.m. Sunday a 2002 Subaru Outback was headed east toward South Fork when the vehicle skidded into the westbound lane after entering a right hand curve into the snow shed near mile post 168.5.<\/p>\n

The Subaru collided head-on into an oncoming 2017 Ford F-150. Both vehicles came to a rest on their wheels in the westbound lane. The crash occurred just east of Wolf Creek Ski Area on U.S. Highway 160.<\/p>\n

The driver of the Subaru, Gena Franqui, 22, of Westminster and the front-seat passenger, Bethani Larson, 21, of Thornton were transported to Rio Grande Hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n

The rear-seat passenger, Antonino Ortiz, 24, of Northglenn suffered fatal injuries.<\/p>\n

The driver of the Ford and a juvenile passenger, both of Denver, were transported to Rio Grande Hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n

Attempts to check the conditions of those injured Tuesday were unsuccessful.<\/p>\n

CSP Capt. Adrian Driscoll said Tuesday morning he did not have any additional updates about the crash.<\/p>\n

A CSP spokesman in Denver said the crash was under investigation and no charges had been filed as of Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
