Telluride Mountain Films featuring extreme outdoor sports, conservation, social justice and the environment will take place at the Dolores Community Center on April 19.<\/span>The Journal file<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>

Telluride Mountain Film on Tour will take place April 19 at the Dolores Community Center.<\/p>\n

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and films start at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door.<\/p>\n

Ten independent films<\/a> about outdoor adventure, extreme sports, art and the environment will be shown. The event and silent auction are Greater Dolores Action\u2019s main fundraising events for the Dolores River Festival.<\/p>\n

The films this year are: \u201cIntersection: Micayla Gatto,\u201d \u201cReturn from Desolation,\u201d \u201cClimbing Out of a Disaster,\u201d \u201cRJ Ripper,\u201d \u201cRogue Elements: Corbet\u2019s Couloir Segment,\u201d \u201cThe Wolf Pack,\u201d \u201cWildlife and the Wall,\u201d \u201cFrontier of Firsts,\u201d \u201cHow to Run 100 Miles,\u201d and \u201cImagination: Tom Wallisch.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe films are a mixture of adrenaline rush, adventure and ecology,\u201d said organizer Susan Lisak. \u201cIt will be two hours of wonderful entertainment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Six different types of beer and ciders will be served from Dolores River Brewery, Mancos Brewing Co. and Outlier Cellars. Mexican food will also be for sale from Four Dope Gringos, a popular food truck business from Durango.<\/p>\n

The silent auction has a modern twist to it this year, Lisak said. Bids are entered online via a cellphone or internet device at charityauctionstoday.com<\/a> Bidding has already begun.<\/p>\n

When someone outbids you, a text message will appear on your phone, and you can enter a new bid.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt streamlines the process, reaches a broader audience and gives people more time to look at the auction items,\u201d Lisak said.<\/p>\n

For the technically challenged, volunteers will enter your bid information on computers at the event.<\/p>\n

This year, silent auction items include a stand-up board, backpacks, customized raft frame, river trips, resort stays and ski passes.<\/p>\n

So parents can enjoy the films kid-free, a children\u2019s room will be set up with games and kid movies and adult supervision.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
