Cortez and Dolores high school students were decked out in bow ties, gowns and heels this weekend, with both school districts holding senior prom on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

The Montezuma-Cortez High School dance, themed \u201cA Black Tie Affair,\u201d kicked off at 8 p.m. with the Grand March in the Ralph E. Vavak Theatre.<\/p>\n

Dolores secondary students, meanwhile, had their event at the Elks Lodge in Cortez, since their own high school gym recently flooded. Their Grand March began at 7:30 p.m., partially timed to avoid conflicting with the M-CHS prom, as some students were attending both events.<\/p>\n
