The \u201cTheatre of the Absurd\u201d came to Cortez last week, with a couple of one-act plays at the Sunflower Theatre.<\/p>\n

The two plays were performed jointly Oct. 11-13.<\/p>\n

One was Edward Albee\u2019s \u201cThe Zoo Story,\u201d which, according to the Sunflower Theatre\u2019s Facebook page<\/a>, \u201cexplores themes of isolation, loneliness, miscommunication as anathematization, social disparity and dehumanization in a materialistic world.\u201d<\/p>\n

The other was Ryan Bultrowicz\u2019s \u201cThree Women and an Onion,\u201d a comedy in which three women try to uncover the motives of an onion that keeps appearing on their kitchen table.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Zoo Story\u201d was directed by Desiree Henderson and featured actors Mark Lawrence and Garrett Riggs.<\/p>\n

Alexandra York directed \u201cThree Women and an Onion\u201d with a cast of Elizabeth Dickey, Sophia Dickey, Deborah Hardy-Feltman and Terri Helm.<\/p>\n
