The FLC campus has been closed to large groups to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and more than 300 people are expected at the reception for Sonntag, the professional mountain biker who was killed last week when a driver in a truck ran into him while he was riding his bicycle in southwest La Plata County.<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image naviga-align-left alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=edd529e0-f3cc-420b-8dbd-a7fd81837574&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"950\" height=\"1425\" alt=\"Sonntag\" class=\"naviga-image\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption><span class=\"caption\">Sonntag<\/span><span class=\"credit\">du1-i-syn<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>A memorial service is still planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Columba Catholic Church followed by the celebration of life at the fairgrounds. At 2:30 p.m. Saturday, guests will be invited to take the microphone to share memories, stories and thoughts about Sonntag, whose family traveled to Durango from Germany to attend.<\/p>\n<p>At 10 a.m. Sunday, the community also is invited for a bike parade in downtown Durango.
