Arrington St.<\/p>\n<p>This lively performance pairs the melodic voices of the Trinity Ensemble and Celtic Angels choirs with the Celtic Knights Dancers. Experience sounds and rhythms from across the Emerald Isle as the award-winning troupe performs 30 traditional and contemporary numbers.<\/p>\n<p>The show is written, directed and choreographed by Louise Barry, with musical arrangements by Peter Sheridan and Irish step dance director, Sarah Costello.<\/p>\n<p>This is a family-friendly event. (Courtesy San Juan Symphony)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>San Juan Symphony will present \u201cVisionary Beethoven\u201d from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at Henderson Performance Hall at San Juan College, 4601 College Blvd.<\/p>\n<p>The performance features the debut appearance of violinist Arnaud Sussmann, who will perform Sergei Prokofiev\u2019s second violin concerto. Sussmann was the winner of the 2009 Avery Fisher Career Grant and is a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. The program will feature the Seventh Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven, considered one of his best and most uplifting works.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are $30 and may be purchased online at <a href=\"https:\/\/sanjuansymphony.org\/event\/visionary-beethoven-2\/\" id=\"link-5220b9f1af3cb3d72b1d9e40b72c1db6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sanjuansymphony.org\/event\/visionary-beethoven-2<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Microfarming Fundamentals Course<\/div>\n<p>Gardeners interested in water use and water systems are invited to expand their knowledge at the next micro-farming fundamentals course taught by The Potting Shed JNJ at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Sycamore Park Community Center, 1051 E. Sycamore St.<\/p>\n<p>The fourth class in the six-part course will be offered in partnership with San Juan Soil and Water Conservation. The class will cover water conservation, water retention, types of irrigation and usage, drip irrigation and soil and water sampling, with an activity involving water and soil sampling kits.<\/p>\n<p>The class fee is $50, and preregistration is encouraged. Main St.<\/p>\n<p>In the simple painted journal class, taught by Bev Taylor, students will paint a fun, personalized journal with blank pages. The journal can be used or sketching, journaling or note taking. All materials for the journal project will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>Learn additional oil painting techniques and brushwork with Marilyn Taylor in the continuing oil painting class. This class expands on lessons from the previously offered beginning painting class. All painting materials will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>Each class is $40. Artists ages 12 and older are invited to register. Preregistration is required. Register in-person at Artifacts Gallery or call (505) 327-2907.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">\u2018Whispers from the Land\u2019 Exhibit<\/div>\n<p>The works of fiber artists Molly Elkind and Patricia Joy will be displayed through Friday, Feb. 24, at the Henderson Fine Arts Center Gallery, 4601 College Blvd.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit, titled \u201cWhispers From The Land,\u201d features textile designs inspired by southwestern landscapes.<\/p>\n<p>Elkind\u2019s recent work explores the expressive potential of unusual materials and methods in traditional weft-faced, handwoven tapestries.<\/p>\n<p>Joy has worked in the field of quilting for over 40 years.
