(Courtesy San Juan College)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Dia de los Ninos<\/div>\n<p>San Juan College will celebrate D\u00eda de los Ni\u00f1os, Children\u2019s Day, from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 29, at the San Juan College Learning Commons Plaza.<\/p>\n<p>The celebration hosted by San Juan College this year will bring together area libraries, performers, museums, organizations and clubs. Bloomfield Public Library will host book- and literacy-themed games and information at its booth.<\/p>\n<p>The event is free and family-friendly, and will highlight children\u2019s summer activities in San Juan County. There will also be games, prizes, face painting, child safety seat inspections and food for sale from the Colores Club. All three members are current or former members of San Juan County Sheriff\u2019s Office. The rowing challenge helped raise awareness and funding for first responder mental wellness and suicide prevention.<\/p>\n<p>The storyteller series is free and open to all ages. The Doggy Dash loop in through Animas Park is about 2 miles. Registration is open through April 28.<\/p>\n<p>Dashers who preregister will receive a T-shirt. Day-of registration is from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. and does not include a T-shirt. Event T-shirts will be available for sale when Bark in the Park begins.<\/p>\n<p>Bark in the Park Animal Welfare Celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free to attend. Main St, and traveling as a group by bus to the canyon.<\/p>\n<p>Explore the cultural heritage of the Four Corners on an all-day field trip to Canyon de Chelly. The guided tour will provide hikers with historical and cultural information about the canyon.<\/p>\n<p>The bus will leave the museum promptly at 10 a.m. and will return at about 10 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Tours are open to those 16 years old and older. (Courtesy Andrea Pena)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Save Jane event<\/div>\n<p>Childhaven will host a \u201cSave Jane\u201d event from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, April 28, at Orchard Plaza Park.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSave Jane\u201d refers to the names Jane and John Doe, which are used to identify children served by Childhaven without revealing their true identities.<\/p>\n<p>The event will promote Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month and speak for children who experience neglect and abuse. A focus of the event is to honor survivors\u2019 stories, gather agencies who provide vital services and promote advocacy and awareness.<\/p>\n<p>This is a free community event.
