One of 12 teams left in the Class 2A field, the No. 12 Lady Bears traveled to the Denver Coliseum this weekend where they will play against No. 1 seed Yuma High School (22-1 overall, 8-0 in Lower Platte League) and No. 8 seed Rangely High School (21-4 overall, 11-1 in Western Slope League).<\/p>\n

Dolores vs. Rangely, Set 1<\/div>\n

Saturday<\/em>The Lady Bears play Rangely in a rematch of last Saturday\u2019s regional final, which ended with Rangely beating Dolores 15-11 in the 5th set.<\/p>\n

Dolores gets off to a slow start against Rangely in Class 2A state tournament match. Several unforced errors put the Lady Bears in a 15-7 hole and drop the first set 25-11 after several unforced errors. Rangely middle hitter Sarah Conner got off to a strong start.<\/p>\n

Dolores vs. Rangely, Set 2<\/div>\n

Dolores beats Rangely 25-20 in the second set of Class 2A state tournament match. Tatum Majors and Cameron Schafer score several crucial points to help the Lady Bears pull away. Critical third set upcoming.<\/p>\n

Dolores vs. Rangely, Set 3<\/div>\n

Dolores volleyball team loses and eight-point lead in the third set and loses set to Rangely 26-24. Lady Bears now trail Rangely two sets to one.<\/p>\n

Dolores beats Rangely 25-14 in the fourth set of match at Class 2A state tournament. Lady Bears move to a decisive fifth set against Rangely for the second time this season.<\/p>\n

Dolores volleyball team loses to Rangely in a classic five-set match at the Class 2A state tournament. Lady Bears lose 25-11, 20-25, 26-24, 14-25, 15-13. Dolores finishes its season with 22-4 overall record.<\/p>\n

Dolores vs. Yuma, Set 1<\/div>\n

Friday<\/em>The Dolores High School volleyball team loses opening set to Yuma, 25-9. The Lady Bears are struggling to keep up with Colorado\u2019s top Class 2A team. San Juan Basin League champion Dolores will look to regroup during second set.<\/p>\n

Dolores vs. Yuma, Set 2<\/div>\n

Dolores looks far better in the second set against Yuma. The Bears jumped out to a 14-10 lead after a kill by Tatum Majors, but Yuma scores 4 straight points to tie set, 14-14.<\/p>\n

Lady Bears look more comfortable as their opening match of the Class 2A state tournament progresses, but drop the second set Yuma beats Dolores 21-25.<\/p>\n

Dolores vs. Yuma, Set 3<\/div>\n

Dolores volleyball team hanging tough against Yuma in third set that is tied 17-17. Lady Bears heart on display as they refuse to give in to Class 2A\u2019s top-ranked team. Dolores volleyball team loses to top-seeded Yuma, 25-9, 25-21, 25-19 in the opening round of the Class 2A state tournament. Lady Bears put forth a good effort, but Yuma\u2019s offensive firepower was too much for Dolores to handle.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s next<\/div>\n

Yuma plays No. 8 Rangely later today. Dolores plays Rangely on Saturday morning. The top finisher in the three-team pool will advance to the Class 2A State semifinals, which will be played on Saturday.
