I had an event happen during the eclipse that inspired some thought and word. Music, too. I thought I\u2019d share it with you, but it helps if you get a little bluesey beat going in your head. There, you got it now:<\/p>\n

I got a bloody spot on my elbow,<\/p>\n

There\u2019s another on my hand.<\/p>\n

When l look down at my boots,<\/p>\n

There\u2019s blood drippin\u2019 on the sand.<\/p>\n

Refrain: I don\u2019t remember,<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t remember,<\/p>\n

It appears things may have gone wrong.<\/p>\n

I just don\u2019t remember \u2026<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a filly in the round corral,<\/p>\n

And judging by my dress<\/p>\n

I must be a bronc rider,<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s anybody\u2019s guess.<\/p>\n

Refrain<\/p>\n

That filly\u2019s lookin\u2019 right at me<\/p>\n

With a bad look in her eye,<\/p>\n

I guess I should be grateful<\/p>\n

That I didn\u2019t die.<\/p>\n

Well, I finally got my breath back,<\/p>\n

Thought about it hard and long.<\/p>\n

The only thing I remember is<\/p>\n

I got to get back on!<\/p>\n

That I remember, though<\/p>\n

It appears that things have gone wrong.<\/p>\n

That, I remember, I just have to get right back on.<\/p>\n

Philosophically, I think it speaks to not giving up when life gets hard (which it does at times). On a slightly grittier note, it speaks to not riding colts during the apex of a solar eclipse. The energy gets pretty wild.<\/p>\n

I still don\u2019t remember, but my wounds have healed.<\/p>\n
