Although there were four open seats this election season, only four people submitted petitions by the deadline \u2013 Bryan and three incumbents. The town is looking to <a href=\"https:\/\/the-journal.com\/articles\/167250-mancos-might-cancel-april-municipal-election#modal=search-modal,slide=undefined\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cancel<\/a> its upcoming municipal election and swear in the four trustees on April 8.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m grateful for the opportunity to serve the Mancos community,\u201d Bryan told The Journal. \u201cIt\u2019s an exciting time to be in Mancos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The incumbent candidates also set to be sworn in April 8 are Mayor Queenie Barz and trustees Ed Hallam and Cindy Simpson.<\/p>\n<p>Bryan has lived in Southwest Colorado for more than 10 years, and specifically in Mancos for the last four years. She holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in public health education and is a registered nurse.<\/p>\n<p>She has worked as a nurse in hospitals and other public health settings for the past 25 years, along with serving on an international disaster team and on different task forces and boards.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, she is part of an emergency preparedness board.<\/p>\n<p>Bryan said she brings a unique skill set to the board, and will lead through \u201ceffective communication, collaboration and transparency,\u201d she said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a resident of Mancos, CO, I take joy in the outdoor opportunities the area offers,\u201d she said. \u201cI am a health conscious individual, enjoy mountain biking, hiking and fly-fishing.
