Tickets are available at durangoconcerts.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n Wrinkle described Weihenmayer as a \u201cphenomenal motivational speaker.\u201d He will conduct meetings with students from Durango High School and Fort Lewis College in conjunction with his speech.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Weight of Water,\u201d Weihenmayer\u2019s film about his kayaking trip through the Grand Canyon, will be shown at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Mancos Opera House as part of the Mancos Valley River Film Festival.<\/p>\n Brooks, who describes himself politically as a \u201cmoderate\u201d and has said one of his callings is to represent a certain \u201cmoderate Republican Whig political philosophy,\u201d is well-known for his appearances on the PBS Newshour<\/a> and All Things Considered<\/a> on National Public Radio.<\/p>\n Wrinkle said Brooks\u2019 most-recent book, \u201cThe Second Mountain,\u201d includes life reflections and examines how people bring their talents and skills beyond their inner circle of family and friends to strengthen their broader communities.<\/p>\n Coming in May, Brooks will also offer his analysis of the political scene amid the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m sure he\u2019s likely to touch on an analysis of the national political scene.
