{"id":73605,"date":"2016-08-17T02:06:32","date_gmt":"2016-08-17T08:06:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/the-calico-brings-vintage-flair-to-dolores\/"},"modified":"2016-08-17T08:06:32","modified_gmt":"2016-08-17T08:06:32","slug":"the-calico-brings-vintage-flair-to-dolores","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/the-calico-brings-vintage-flair-to-dolores\/","title":{"rendered":"The Calico brings vintage flair to Dolores"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The main plaza in Dolores just got some style with the opening of The Calico, a mercantile full of antique, vintage and hand-crafted items for the home or business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have something for everyone with fabulous one-of-a-kind finds,\u201d says owner Bonnie Devereaux, who recently relocated from Prescott, Arizona,where she had an antique shop.<\/p>\n<p>From custom furniture, tapestry and decorative lamps, to historic Western items, artistic collectibles and classic Nordic sleds and skis, the variety is impressively displayed throughout the three-room gallery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love old things that have nice design and color,\u201d Devereaux says. \u201cI believe each item has a destination to someone\u2019s place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Calico\u2019s prices are competitive and reasonable. The store does not do consignment, but offers direct buy if you\u2019ve got a vintage or unique item to sell.<\/p>\n<p>Moving to Dolores feels like coming home, Devereaux says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been visiting here for 30 years to hike, and the Calico trail is my favorite,\u201d she said. \u201cThis area is like comfort food for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Calico at 102 S. Fourth St., next door to the Dolores River Brewery.
