{"id":73237,"date":"2016-07-14T01:06:06","date_gmt":"2016-07-14T07:06:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/dolores-arts-guild-shows-off-students-work\/"},"modified":"2016-07-14T07:06:06","modified_gmt":"2016-07-14T07:06:06","slug":"dolores-arts-guild-shows-off-students-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/dolores-arts-guild-shows-off-students-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Dolores Arts Guild shows off students\u2019 work"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!-- gallery:6e0bba3e-d0c4-4c73-a0bc-fc71d516e2b2 --><\/p>\n<p>Student artwork from the newly formed Dolores Arts Guild is on display at the Dolores Schools administration building.<\/p>\n<p>Dolores art teacher Jay Anderson started the guild as a way to promote local talent and teach students the business side of selling their work.<\/p>\n<p>The business model for the Dolores Arts Guild is for participating students to invest a small amount in a project, like $2, then sell it for five times that investment.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson guides the piece to commercial quality, and the artwork is made into posters courtesy of Southwest Printing in Cortez. Students form a marketing strategy to sell their art.
