{"id":73202,"date":"2017-02-06T18:43:47","date_gmt":"2017-02-07T01:43:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/pleasant-view-fire-destroys-barn-equipment\/"},"modified":"2017-02-07T01:43:47","modified_gmt":"2017-02-07T01:43:47","slug":"pleasant-view-fire-destroys-barn-equipment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/pleasant-view-fire-destroys-barn-equipment\/","title":{"rendered":"Pleasant View fire destroys barn, equipment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!-- gallery:efef8c66-9108-4add-afa3-deaffc0c6f09 --><\/p>\n<p>A fire late Friday night near Pleasant View destroyed a hay shed and caused $93,000 of damage, according to a report from Montezuma County Sheriff\u2019s deputy Jared Farnsworth.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency personnel responded to the fire at the 21000 block of County Road 18 just before 11 p.m. on Friday, the report states.<\/p>\n<p>A 90-by-60-foot hay shed was engulfed in flames when Farnsworth arrived on scene, and the structure was \u201cdistorting, warping, and changing color on all sides,\u201d he said in the report.<\/p>\n<p>There were no people or livestock animals in the structure, the report states.<\/p>\n<p>Pleasant View Fire Chief Jeff Yoder said Monday the fire\u2019s cause has not been determined. About 16 firefighters were on scene from the Pleasant View department, as well as a few from the Lewis-Arriola department, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters were on scene until 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning, and the last person left the scene at 7 a.m., he said.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second structure fire in the area in the past week.
