Kelly Horrigan, professor of fashion and education at Pratt Institute of Art in New York, has arrived to teach a jewelry workshop for the School of the West.<\/p>\n

The leather and stone class will be held at the Mancos Public Library on Jan. 7 from 10 a.m. \u2013 2 p.m. The cost is $50 with another $50 for supplies and materials. Go to the School of the West\u2019s website (schoolofthewest.org) for more information and to sign up for the class.<\/p>\n

Rudolph \u2013 a quick history<\/div>\n

Rudolph, created by Robert Lewis May, first appeared in a Christmas coloring book for Montgomery Ward in 1939.<\/p>\n

The year 2014 was Rudolph\u2019s 75th anniversary, the 50th anniversary of the TV special, and the appearance of a Rudolph postage stamp issued by the U.S. Post Office.<\/p>\n

A Little Lamb (a poem)<\/div>\n

Mary is a little lamb. Her fleece is kinda grungy,<\/p>\n

But she is only 2 weeks old and always very hungry.<\/p>\n

I fed her from a bottle and held her in my arms.<\/p>\n

It was just a moment till I fell for all her charms.<\/p>\n

Her big black eyes looked up at me then quietly closed in sleep.<\/p>\n

Her owner, Ray, said quietly, \u201cShe\u2019s not yours to keep,<\/p>\n

But you can have the midnight shift and feed again at four,<\/p>\n

And in just another month we\u2019ll have 49 more.\u201d<\/p>\n

My friend looked at me and frowned, \u201cYou don\u2019t have a car.<\/p>\n

And if you think I\u2019ll bring you here \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

I cried hot tears then got some sense.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve held a lot of babies, which should have been a plenty.<\/p>\n

But none of them were half as cute<\/p>\n

As this little lamb named Mary.<\/p>\n

Brown\u2019s store is open \u2013 just call<\/div>\n
