Montezuma County residents have until June 1 to comment on an interactive, online map of trails and roads in the Tres Rios Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management.<\/p>\n
La Plata, Archuleta, Dolores, San Miguel and Montrose counties have until Oct. 1 to comment.<\/p>\n
The field office is seeking the public\u2019s help in reviewing its road and trail inventory, said BLM planner Keith Fox.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe interactive map format is a first for this office and has had postive feedback from the public,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The field office covers about a half million acres. Public review will help ensure the inventory is as accurate as possible and to identify routes that may have missed, providing the framework for a proposed travel network.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf there are roads and trails out there that are special to you, we\u2019d like to hear about them,\u201d said Tres Rios Field Manager Connie Clementson. \u201cWe\u2019re not making decisions at this time, just verifying and correcting information.\u201d<\/p>\n
To help the public review and comment on the routes, the BLM developed a web-based interactive map illustrating each inventoried route.
