{"id":70691,"date":"2017-04-17T14:28:47","date_gmt":"2017-04-17T20:28:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/bluejays-track-teams-compete-in-bayfield\/"},"modified":"2017-04-17T20:28:47","modified_gmt":"2017-04-17T20:28:47","slug":"bluejays-track-teams-compete-in-bayfield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/bluejays-track-teams-compete-in-bayfield\/","title":{"rendered":"Bluejays track teams compete in Bayfield"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Sporting their school\u2019s trademark white and blue uniforms, several Mancos track athletes performed well at the Pine River Invitational in Bayfield on April 15.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the way for the Mancos boys was  Jake McKie, who finished second in the 3200-meter run (10:56.95) and sixth in the 1600-meter run (5:01.41).<\/p>\n<p>Teslin Stecher placed seventh in the 3200-meter run (11:58.46), while Griff Huver placed eighth in the triple jump (38 feet, \u00bc inches).  Anthony Medina placed ninth in the long jump (18 feet, 7\u00be inches).<\/p>\n<p>Caden Showalter led the Bluejays in the throwing events, placing sixth in the shot put (40 feet, 7 \u00bd inches) and 10th in the discus (111 feet, 7 inches).<\/p>\n<p>As a team, the Mancos boys finished 11th out of 19 total teams. The Bayfield High School boys team finished first.<\/p>\n<p>The Bluejay girls were led by Emma Most, who finished second in the 3200-meter run (13:49.80).<\/p>\n<p>Brittney Peacock placed seventh in the 3200-meter run (14:37.04), Ashley Cole placed 10th in the 400-meter dash (1:08.93), and Jessalyn Bay-Voit, placed 10th in the 800-meter run (2:48.41).<\/p>\n<p>As a team, Mancos placed 13th out of 19 teams. The Bayfield High School girls team finished first overall.<\/p>\n<p>Next up for the Mancos track teams will be the Ron Keller Invitational, April 18 in Durango.
