The total solar eclipse affects much of the northern half of the United States, although the eclipse in Southwest Colorado will not be total. Eclipse watchers will meet at the Group Picnic Area starting at 10 a.m. The eclipse starts about 10:15 a.m. with the darkest part of the eclipse, known as Mid eclipse, about 11:38 a.m. The eclipse ends about 1:05 p.m.<\/p>\n
Light refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n
Mancos State Park also on Monday announced that its newest entertainer, local musician Tim Krebs, who will perform at Saturday, Aug. 19, at 7 p.m. Krebs says he is \u201ca singer-songwriter, Cowboy from my youth. I sing old cowboy songs, gospel songs, and much more.\u201d<\/p>\n
Krebs is dedicated to his faith and notes that, \u201cI sing for the Lord always, wherever He leads.\u201d<\/p>\n
His appearance is part of the park\u2019s Music in the Park summer series.<\/p>\n
Folk musician Donna Joerg will reprise her eclectic mix of music on Saturday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
Joerg is as a \u201cprofessional busker\u201d who plays in public places for tips. She is also a modern troubadour who mixes modern folk and music honoring indigenous peoples.<\/p>\n
Mancos State Park, on County Road N at County Road 42, is open to boating, fishing, hiking and camping.<\/p>\n
All events are free with $7 per vehicle park admission. Carpooling is encouraged.<\/p>\n
