Everyone under the age of 21 still said \u201cyes ma\u2019am\u201d and \u201cno sir.\u201d While I\u2019ve worked hard at \u201cde-tex-ification,\u201d the sir and ma\u2019am will not go away.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve spent a little time riding bucking horses, never good enough to be good but just good enough to not be bad. I have seen some places and had some fun. I start some colts these days because that\u2019s where my heart is and always has been.<\/p>\n

Not long ago, someone told me that I had told them \u201cmy truth.\u201d I didn\u2019t have any idea what that meant. New-age speak: \u201cMy truth.\u201d \u201cYour truth.\u201d \u201cSignificant other\u201d and \u201cfamily of origin.\u201d What does all of that mean?<\/p>\n

Is there such a thing as \u201cmy lie?\u201d \u201cYour lie?\u201d \u201cInsignificant other\u201d or \u201cfamily of consequence?\u201d<\/p>\n

Today, I like it a lot more simple. I think I\u2019ll just stick with old-age speak: \u201cThe truth.\u201d \u201cA lie.\u201d \u201cWife.\u201d \u201cHusband.\u201d \u201cGirlfriend,\u201d \u201cboyfriend,\u201d \u201cfriend\u201d and \u201cfamily.\u201d<\/p>\n

I make a habit of telling the truth, can usually tell if I\u2019m told a lie, don\u2019t have a wife or girlfriend and do have some friends and family. Nice and simple.<\/p>\n

In an attempt to stay truthful, I should probably say that, in the wintertime, I wouldn\u2019t mind having a \u201cfriend with benefits\u201d to help keep my feet warm at night.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve seen a little success and lived through some failure. With a little luck and just a touch of care about where I put my feet, maybe I\u2019ll wake up on this side of the dirt and have a chance to go at it another day.<\/p>\n
