{"id":68365,"date":"2017-05-05T13:04:27","date_gmt":"2017-05-05T19:04:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/agape-durangos-spiritual-festival-seeks-new-mancos-location\/"},"modified":"2017-05-05T19:04:27","modified_gmt":"2017-05-05T19:04:27","slug":"agape-durangos-spiritual-festival-seeks-new-mancos-location","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/agape-durangos-spiritual-festival-seeks-new-mancos-location\/","title":{"rendered":"Agape Durango\u2019s spiritual festival seeks new Mancos location"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!-- gallery:307fb805-d43d-4bb2-b8be-d96116044f27 --><\/p>\n<p>Organizers of a spiritual festival have withdrawn their application and are looking for a new location for the festival.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cRhythm and Soul Festival\u201d had been planned for a location southwest of Mancos on Road G, but some neighbors of the proposed site were unhappy with the proposal, festival organizer Fred Boshardt said May 4.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn order to make peace, we decided not to go through with it,\u201d Boshardt said.<\/p>\n<p>Organizers withdrew their application for a perpetual high-impact permit for the Road G location on Wednesday, May 3, according to Montezuma County Planning Director LeeAnn Milligan. The county planning and zoning board had previously recommended approval for the application at their April 13 meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The event is being put on by Agape Durango and is still planned for Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, Boshardt said. He is looking at several other possible locations for the festival, including Cottonwood Park in Mancos.<\/p>\n<p>Agape Durango\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.agapedurango.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">festival website<\/a> promises a weekend of music, keynote speakers and other events, including yoga each morning. Boshardt said he expects 800 to 1,000 to attend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRhythm &amp; Soul was created to offer a series of life-changing experiences of simultaneous frequency activations, personal realizations and festive celebration,\u201d the website reads.<\/p>\n<p>Agape Durango was founded in 1996 by teacher and author Michael Bernard Beckwith, according to the site.
