{"id":68353,"date":"2017-05-09T17:38:37","date_gmt":"2017-05-09T23:38:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/cortez-librarys-summer-reading-program-begins-june-1\/"},"modified":"2017-05-09T23:38:37","modified_gmt":"2017-05-09T23:38:37","slug":"cortez-librarys-summer-reading-program-begins-june-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/cortez-librarys-summer-reading-program-begins-june-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Cortez library\u2019s summer reading program begins June 1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Cortez Public Library\u2019s summer reading program plans to host six family entertainment programs on Tuesdays from June 6 to July 19.<\/p>\n<p>The programs start at 2 p.m. The final show will be held on Wednesday, July 19.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">The schedule<\/div>\n<p><em class=\"mwc_body_bullet_rr\">June 6, 2 p.m.: Magician Cody Landstrom<\/em><em class=\"mwc_body_bullet_rr\">June 13, 2 p.m.: Author and cartoonist Matthew Henry Hall, with a cartoon workshop for tweens and teens after the performance<\/em><em class=\"mwc_body_bullet_rr\">June 20, 2 p.m.: Ventriloquist Meghan Casey and the Rocky Mountain Puppets<\/em><em class=\"mwc_body_bullet_rr\">June 27, 2 p.m.: Clown Jim Jackson of the Millibo Art Theatre<\/em><em class=\"mwc_body_bullet_rr\">July 11, 2 p.m.: Magician Tall Paul<\/em><em class=\"mwc_body_bullet_rr\">July 19, 2 p.m.: Singer Andy Mason<\/em>The summer reading program runs June 1 \u2013 July 28. Kids and teens can pick up reading logs and track the number of books they read on June 1. Participants must register online to receive a T-shirt when the program ends. There will also be a prize drawing at the end of the program.<\/p>\n<p>The library\u2019s preschool Storytime program continues every Thursday starting at 10:30 a.m. Older children may come for a craft at 11:15 a.m. The Library also offers a summer Storytime at the Cortez Farmers Market every Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m., during the season, weather permitting.
