The council will also vote on whether to approve construction of a salt shed near the city Service Center and whether to approve a subdivision on Cedar Street.<\/p>\n<p>Public works director Phil Johnson gave a presentation at the council\u2019s June 13 meeting about the age of the city\u2019s waterlines, some of which were laid in the 1950s and 1960s. On Tuesday, the council will consider awarding a bid to D&amp;L Construction for $594,319 to install new water lines on Balsam Street, Tucker Lane and Center Street this year. Johnson said on June 13 that an upgrade to all the city\u2019s waterlines would be a long-term project spanning several years.<\/p>\n<p>Also on the agenda is a vote on whether to award a bid to Venture Technologies to upgrade the city\u2019s firewall systems, at a cost of $82,218.37 per year for a three-year lease.
