Love on a Hanger and other businesses will feature fall and winter fashions, hair and makeup tutorials in the ninth annual Pretty in Pink Fashion Show on Thursday, Oct. 17.<\/p>\n
Silent and live auctions, complimentary desserts and a cash bar are also planned for the event at Four Seasons Greenhouse and Nursery, 6 miles north of Cortez, at 26650 CR P, Dolores. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Cancer Resource Alliance, formerly known as the Women\u2019s Cancer Coalition, Love on a Hanger owner Tiffani Randall said in a news release.<\/p>\n
The nonprofit Cancer Resource Alliance provides financial assistance to residents of Montezuma and Dolores counties who have had a recent cancer diagnosis. The Cancer Resource Alliance helps provide free breast and reproductive cancer screenings for women.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Pretty in Pink Fashion Show has become an event that we always look forward to each fall, Randall said. \u201cEach year, I am continually in awe of how gracious and giving our community is.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Pretty in Pink Fashion Show was started in 2011. Since then it has grown from 50 attendees to over 250 guests.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a result of our growth in attendance, a change of venue and format was made,\u201d Randall said. \u201cOver the last eight years, the event has raised in excess of $63,000 to benefit the local organization, allowing hundreds of individuals to receive assistance.\u201d<\/p>\n
Last year, the fashion show generated $13,000 for the Cancer Resource Alliance, Randall said, and the alliance has helped more than 40 people gain $500 grants and for cancer screenings.<\/p>\n
This year, Randall hopes to raise $15,000.<\/p>\n
Tickets for the show are required. General admission seating is $20, and VIP, front row, seating is $35. Tickets can be purchased at Love on a Hanger, West View Day Spa, online at http:\/\/bit.ly\/prettyinpinktix2019 or at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
