She returned to Cortez the next day, meeting constituents and speaking at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5231 on Friday evening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think people want to see me, and then when they come, the first thing they say is, \u2018Where\u2019s your gun?\u2019 I don\u2019t have a good side. I thank God there was a minimum wage low enough when I was growing up that an owner of a McDonald\u2019s could offer a girl with no skills a job,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Clemens, who lives east of Durango, said he would vote for Boebert if she made the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not pleased with Tipton. I don\u2019t see him taking any stands. He\u2019s too mushy for me. He just tries to play it safe,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Clemens was unconcerned that knocking off a GOP incumbent might give Democrats a better chance to pick up the seat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think she\u2019d have a better chance, honestly, because she stands for something,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Boebert also previewed her first commercial, a 30-second spot that will run on social media in the 3rd Congressional District.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video wp-block-embed-youtube naviga-video-embed\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yyL-wGwfzts\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The commercial states:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHi everyone, I\u2019m Lauren Boebert, and I want you to send me to Congress to help President Trump build the wall, drain the swamp and stand up to all the left-wing lunatics. I\u2019m pro-Trump, pro-Constitution, pro-life, pro-guns, pro-energy. I\u2019m a conservative, a Republican, a mom, a business owner. I\u2019m in this fight because freedom is a great motivator.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoin me. I\u2019m Lauren Boebert, I\u2019m running for Congress and I approved this message.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boebert asked attendees to support her at the 3rd Congressional District Assembly in Broomfield on March 17.<\/p>\n<p>In Cortez on Friday, she repeated her message to a crowd of around 40 as well, alongside Greg Lopez, a gubernatorial candidate and the former mayor of Parker.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m here to be with the freedom-loving patriots of Cortez,\u201d she told <em>The Journal.<\/em> \u201cThis is my third speaking engagement here, and it\u2019s good to be back with everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She spoke of her commitment to conservative values, highlighting her \u201cfighter\u201d attitude and efforts opposing the National Popular Vote in Colorado.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause I am a mom, there is a mandate on my life, to secure the nation I am going to send my boys out into,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I refuse to send them into a socialist nation.
