Broadway, Cortez.<\/p>\n<p>If you did not receive a ballot or lost your ballot, you can pick one up between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Empire main office. An ID is required, and you must be an Empire Electric cooperative member to vote.<\/p>\n<p>Six candidates have entered the race for three open seats on the electric cooperative\u2019s board.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates Robert Barry and Carolyn Dunmire are competing for the District 2 seat. In District 5, incumbent Kent Lindsay is up against Eric Lindgren, and in District 6, incumbent David Sitton is challenged by Greg Barker. The District 2 seat is for a two-year term. District 5 and 6 are for four-year terms.<\/p>\n<p>Board members help manage the electric cooperative, which provides service to Montezuma and Dolores counties and part of southeast Utah.<\/p>\n<p>Board members review and approve policies and analyze projects and rates during monthly meetings. Board members receive a base pay of $1,000 per month, plus $150 for attending additional meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Ballots will be tallied and results will be announced at the end of the June 20 annual meeting, which begins at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
