A festive new food truck serves up healthy American fare out of a converted camp trailer with an Alice in Wonderland theme.<\/p>\n
The Tunick family started up the Cheeseshire Cat in honor of their children\u2019s favorite movie and character.<\/p>\n
Professionally trained chef Jami Tunick and her daughters, Abbygale and Haylee, prepare and serve up vegan gluten-free chili, potato bread with spices, simple and deluxe quesadillas with salsa, Frito pie and cheeseburgers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are family-friendly and budget-friendly,\u201d Tunick said. \u201cEverything is made from scratch. Grandma\u2019s potato bread is a famous family recipe, and it pairs great with the chili.\u201d<\/p>\n
She went to culinary school in New Mexico, and honed her skills cooking for her husband and their five kids.<\/p>\n
\u201cFood is what I\u2019m good at, so I decided \u2018I\u2019m going to do this,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity to teach the kids about the responsibilities of the working world too.\u201d<\/p>\n
The food is flavorful and filling, and has that culinary-trained specialty, like the pineapple salsa with its sweet-and-spicy combination. The home-made cookies are perfectly crunchy and mouth watering.<\/p>\n
Her husband, James, remodeled the trailer into a self-contained, certified kitchen, and local artist Ashley Nolan painted the colorful Alice in Wonderland scenes on the outside.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a team effort ,and we have had a good response,\u201d Tunick said. \u201cI\u2019m excited to make great food and meet the community.\u201d<\/p>\n
