{"id":65611,"date":"2019-07-28T18:21:09","date_gmt":"2019-07-28T18:21:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/dolores-man-killed-in-hesperus-rollover\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T16:16:19","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T16:16:19","slug":"dolores-man-killed-in-hesperus-rollover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/dolores-man-killed-in-hesperus-rollover\/","title":{"rendered":"Dolores man killed in Hesperus rollover"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=9f289740-23e7-4f3a-ba37-c33b3befe37f&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"831\" height=\"467\" alt=\"\" class=\"naviga-image\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">du1-i-syn<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Logan Willbanks, 24, of Dolores, was killed about 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning after he was ejected from the pickup he was driving after it wandered off the right side of U.S. Highway 160 approaching Colorado Highway 140 intersection at Hesperus.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado State Patrol Trooper Brandon Hollibaugh, lead investigator in the crash, said the GMC 2500 Duramax rolled twice, and he believes Willbanks was ejected after the first roll.<\/p>\n<p>Willbanks was thrown several feet from the vehicle, and CPR was preformed but was unsuccessful, Hollibaugh said.<\/p>\n<p>Willbanks was eastbound, and Hollibaugh said excessive speed was a factor in the single-vehicle, single-occupant crash.
