Moore was arrested Tuesday morning in the Denver area on suspicion of domestic violence.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Patrick Armijo\/Durango Herald file<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>A Durango Police Department officer was arrested Tuesday morning in the Denver area on suspicion of domestic violence, according to a news release from the city of Durango.<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement booked officer Justin Moore into the Denver Downtown Detention Center around 7 a.m. on a warrant from the La Plata County Sheriff\u2019s Office, according to Denver Sheriff\u2019s Department records.<\/p>\n<p>The La Plata County Sheriff\u2019s Office issued the warrant for domestic violence Dec. 1, said spokesman Chris Burke. Deputies responded to a call from a third party to a home in Bayfield related to domestic violence allegations, but Moore left the home before law enforcement arrived, Burke said.<\/p>\n<p>Moore, a five-year officer with the DPD, was suspended with pay \u201cupon notice of the arrest,\u201d said Durango Police Chief Bob Brammer.<\/p>\n<p>The DPD did not comment about the allegations.<\/p>\n<p>The case involves one victim, Burke said. Deputies spoke to Moore\u2019s \u201csignificant other\u201d on Dec. 1 and established probable cause for domestic violence. Court documents detailing the nature of the allegations were unavailable as of Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>The Sheriff\u2019s Office is conducting the criminal investigation related to domestic violence; the Durango Police Department will conduct a separate internal investigation, Brammer said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of things going on,\u201d Brammer said. \u201cWe\u2019re taking care of the family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moore, 31, is the department\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/durangoherald.com\/articles\/263023-k9-betty-shows-off-on-her-2nd-birthday\">K-9 handler<\/a>, according to <em>The Durango Herald<\/em> archives and the department\u2019s Facebook page.
