The Durango Police Department is looking for two suspects considered armed and dangerous who allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint Thursday.<\/p>\n

Authorities have identified the wanted men as Joshua Gallegos, 23, and Stephen Goupil, 33.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, they\u2019re pretty dangerous, and we want to get them off the streets,\u201d said Cmdr. Ray Shupe.<\/p>\n

Shupe said the apparent victim got into a car with Gallegos and Goupil on Thursday near Taco Bell on north Main Avenue. It appears the victim was an acquaintance of the two men, according to police.<\/p>\n

Shupe said the group then drove to the End-O-Day Motel at 350 East Eighth Ave. There, Gallegos and Goupil are suspected of robbing and assaulting the victim at gunpoint, stealing cash and a wallet.<\/p>\n

Shupe said the victim was able to get away and contact police around 7:15 p.m. He was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries that required stitches.<\/p>\n

Police on Friday were looking for Gallegos and Goupil. Anyone who may know their whereabouts should not approach them and instead contact police dispatch at 385-2900.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now, they are considered armed and dangerous, and we don\u2019t want anyone to get hurt,\u201d Shupe said. \u201cIf you know where they are, just give us a call.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to The Durango Herald<\/em> archives, this is not Gallegos\u2019 and Goupil\u2019s first run-in with the law.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Gallegos was arrested on suspicion of stealing<\/a> 6th Judicial District Attorney Christian Champagne\u2019s bike. And in 2013, Goupil was arrested for allegedly having sex in a vehicle with a 16-year-old girl<\/a> and giving her marijuana.<\/p>\n
