{"id":63999,"date":"2018-07-17T13:44:23","date_gmt":"2018-07-17T19:44:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/three-men-injured-in-mutual-combat-with-knives\/"},"modified":"2018-07-17T19:44:23","modified_gmt":"2018-07-17T19:44:23","slug":"three-men-injured-in-mutual-combat-with-knives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/three-men-injured-in-mutual-combat-with-knives\/","title":{"rendered":"Three men injured in \u2018mutual combat\u2019 with knives"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=06ffdcd8-064a-4238-a1b7-2c0f8c07b1e3&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"831\" height=\"467\" alt=\"\" class=\"naviga-image\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">du1-i-syn<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Three men engaged in a \u201cmutual combat\u201d with knives were taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesman with the La Plata County Sheriff\u2019s Office said a report came in Sunday evening that three people involved in the fight were injured in an apartment complex near the 1900 block of Florida Road (County Road 240).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom my understanding, three people began a mutual fight of some type \u2013 sport or play or whatever \u2013 but then it went too far,\u201d Sgt. Wes Doughty said. \u201cKnives were introduced and people got pretty badly injured.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mutual combat occurs when people willingly enter into a physical fight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s kind of a weird one, for sure,\u201d Doughty said.<\/p>\n<p>All three men were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Doughty said as of Monday, no one has been charged in the fight.
